The Production:

★★★★ “Strict, bold and brilliant.” – The Independent
★★★★ “Powerfully danced.” – The Financial Times
★★★★ “Pure physical poetry.” – The Stage
★★★★ “A step into serious artistic maturity for dance company Boy Blue Entertainment.” – London Evening Standard
★★★★★ “Sandy and Asante’s new work, Blak Whyte Gray, is very fine indeed. There’s a spareness about it – a sense of intensely distilled feeling,
of dance cut to its essence – that you only rarely encounter.” – The Observer

Blak Whyte Gray was nominated for Best New Dance Production in the 2017 Olivier Awards.

The world in flux, a mood for change: the artists of Boy Blue Entertainment give expression to experiences of contemporary life through the prism
of a compelling new dance production.

The time is right to ask questions, to break free from the inner tension of a system that isn’t working, and to emerge on the other side to an
awakening – a return to roots, a celebration of culture.

Fuelled by an emotional energy, this triple bill pairs the concentrated physicality of select hip-hop dance styles with the rhythmical groove of music
and moves evoking Africa. Progressing from story-driven hits such as The Five & the Prophecy of Prana, Boy Blue’s founders Kenrick ‘H2O’ Sandy
and Michael ‘Mikey J’ Asante inject Blak Whyte Gray with an unexpected abstract quality, revealing a different side to the company’s personality.

Boy Blue Entertainment, the Olivier awarding-winning company behind Pied Piper and The Five & the Prophecy of Prana has been acclaimed for
presenting “the perfect marriage of music and dance”. Boy Blue releases boundless creative energy in its performances, laying down the beats and
delivering thrilling and raw dance sequences. The company is proud to be home to some of the UK’s most sought-after hip-hop artists.
